According to tradition, she appears to have been an ancient divinity, who, from the time of the Titans, ruled in heaven, on the earth, and in the sea, who bestowed on mortals wealth, victory, wisdom; but  these blessings might at the same time be withheld by her, if mortals did not deserve them. She is goddess of Crossroads, witchcraft, moon, ghosts and necromancy.

Myths describe the origins of her animal familiar: A huge black she-dog. The dog was the Queen Hecuba who was turned as punishment for the fall of her empire . Hekate is sometimes depicted  as a woman holding twin torches. She is a lesser Deity of magic  frequently worshiped by cultists and witches whom she grants boons to more freely than many deities.

She is ultimately selfish and fickle and fond of subverting worshipers of other Deities with promises of powers and arcane secrets.

Brother and polar opposite of Hextor, Heironeous is a fighter for the oppressed and warden of the ideas of Law and Good, Heironeous is a god who expects his followers to uphold Chivalry, Justice and Valor as the highest values in life. Knowing this, some people actually compare the teachings of Heironeous with the concepts of Chivarly or the eastern ideals of Bushido. Hieroneous teaches his followers that those who stand up to evil and danger with certainty and calmness, are sure to end the day in victory.
Heironeous's greatest temple was in White hall (the destroyed half of shattered bridge.) While the destruction of the great temple has greatly diminished the influence of the church of Heironeous the church still has devout followers including a band of fanatics (the path) bent on restoring the great cathedrals and reestablishing the church as a central faith in the near realms.
