In response to Illithor Triassys' Visit

Maru listens to what Illithor has to say with half an ear... he knows the basics of what needs top be done and isn't looking forward to it at all. What happened to the days when he and his companions would go off and have adventures? What happened to the days where Shiuske would give a piece of shit to an old lady and tell her it was treasure? Or when finding a silver bowl and some cherries was an adventure in it of itself... Those days ended when evil stone towers started to appear across the land, when cherries in bowls turned into evil hags, when Maru was bludgeoned to death by a Bugbear... That last one really stuck with him, he actually died and came back thanks to Daria, a debt he can never truly repay. Its true that Maru helped in the great battle that happened a few months ago, and even helped save Daria herself when she was taken by those spider things, but does that make them even? Maru didn't feel that they were even, in fact a small part of him feels slighted at returning. In death he was at peace, he didn't remember much about it but he felt at peace in the land of spirits, then that was taken from him and brought back to this world of pain and suffering. Maru lets out a grunt of dissatisfaction, going to that tower will bring much more pain, MUCH more. This world is pain, but it also has happiness, excitement, and a unexpectedness, and thats why life is worth living.

Maru props himself up and looks around the room, his companions have been through a lot. He would never abandon Saito, he may be hung up on a bunch of clan stuff but his skills and battle prowess have saved them all multiple times. Shiuske may be a little weird but what spirit wielder isn't? When it counted he was always there for us. Joff is pretty mysterious and has also proven herself, while Maru fights with his heart, she fights with her mind which is needed sometimes. Then there is the newest one Donna, from what she says she is ready for battle but is she? Maru has seen plenty of warriors with big talk and no skills, but she seems enthusiastic so thats something... does she truly know what we are facing?

Yet again Maru faces death down, death does not worry him he knows it well, he will do his best for his companions and for this world and if death comes for him again he will welcome it.

The Kron plainsmen have never before feared the likes of Hobgoblins and yet it appears they have taken the southern hunting lands for their own. The army of 1000 dragons did not stop them. Whats to prevent them from moving north into the pridelands? A few towns and farms? They might travel north all the way to the sea of grass before the great cities respond. But that is for another time ... spring will come soon enough and the warriors of the tribes will look to earn their spots on the totems.
