The Stone totems of Kai'anu-tab
Barely recognizable as Kron totems the three carved stone pillars mark this land as a sacred place among the Kron. Overgrown with vines and underbrush only tremendous luck revealed their presence to Maru. Legends tell us that long ago the bear clan roamed lands far to the south of the sea of grass in a mountainous forest between the great marsh and the chalk hills. This land must of have been part of their domain. The bear clans for generations have inhabited the lands far to the north and west. The totems mark not only the ancient border of these lands but also a place of meeting.
The totem tells of a truce between warborn of the hills and the bear clan. The bear allows harvest of trees for two months before the frost moon and are paid in steel one ingot for each warrior of the clan. The totems also mark the place of exchange. The totems also detail an agreement that should the snake banner ever march from the north the Bear clan will not allow them passage through the forest. Similarly the warborn will slay any Kanontsistonties (Flying heads) attempting to leave the depths beneath the hills for the shelters of the forest.
