Shugenjas (Shaman) in High Elf Society
While Shugenjas are divine spell casters and typically pay some homage to the Eladrin pantheon, their spells are granted by the elemental and ancestral spirits. Shugenjas are typically found tending to ancestral shrines and have close ties and influence in their clans. Shugenjas typically strive to exemplify the ideals and character of their clans and are often considered important role models beyond their magical prowess.
Shugenjas are clerics with the domain choices dictated by the clan’s ancestral personality/ characteristics. On rare occasions, when a clan’s destiny is held in the balance, a “Chosen one” rises with access to a domain not associated with the clan though these are often considered tragic figures and unwilling tools of the ancestors.
So now you know.

Re: Shugenjas (Shaman) in High Elf Society
Shugenjas are much more than spell-slinging sorcerers. They are the foundation of a clan's religion—priests who teach the rituals of piety, keep the names of the Fortunes, and even measure the passage of time. They study for years to learn even the fundamental elements of their magical practice, and are the most literate class of people in high elven society. A shugenja’s spells are written on (non-magical) prayer scrolls which serve as a divine focus for casting.
